My name is Michael Krakovskiy, and this is my blog.
Here's what you might find interesting:
100 Views of the Empire State Building project: I try to take 100 interesting photos of Manhattan's (sadly) tallest building.
My Gastronomic Adventures: I eat weird food - from 13 year old New Coke to Durian and parasitic fungi.
My attempts to grow exotic plants: pineapples, coconuts, etc.
My photos, mostly of New York City.
My musings about architecture mostly illustrated with my own photos. Would you like to learn about a mental patient who died at 103 who served as a model for some very famous sculptures? How about Brooklyn's ugliest building? How about a wooden skyscraper?
I find myself frequently writing about logos. The most popular article I ever wrote is about the redesigns of the Starbucks logo.
I wrote a series of "Best Sci-Fi You Haven't Read" posts:
Psywarrior
Yes, Virginia There Is Synergy
Call Time Police - We've Got a Time Traveler
Other topics that interest me include NYPD, New York City subway system, Japan, and things made out of titanium. On top of all of that, I seem to be interested in pigeions and Rupert Murdoch.
Dear reader, please browse around. You are sure to find something interesting. I could really use some help in bringing in readership: subscribe to the rss feed, digg the stories (there's a convenient button at the bottom of every article), link to my blog from yours, write some comments. I put in a lot of effort into writing, and I really appreciate your attention.
If you don't want all this pseudo-intellectual and want some lolcats? Please don't go away. Here, I have that stuff too. Here, here's another. And another. And another. I lied about not posting cat pictures.

Hey, I love your blog... always something interesting to read. Anyways, I agree about the difficulty being original.. you almost have to ask, "what would nobody in their right mind want to do?" Still, and perhaps even more certainly, some else will have done that. Ha!
Your interest in logos makes me think you might like this.
Good stuff lately, by the way.
Sorry, but "coffee, regular" isn't just specific to NYC-- in Boston it's called "reglah cawfee." (This confused me for the longest time because in Upstate NY where I grew up, "regular coffee" meant "drip, not espresso.")
Thank you, Dingo. Yeah, I've seen that article. It's hard to be original in the logo creation business. Actually it's hard to be original in almost any business. Especially in blogging - lately I haven't put out much original stuff myself.
Ha ha. Didn't know that even though I've been to Boston a bunch of times. But do they have scooped bagles?
I love watching the old episodes of law and order from the 1990's where they're always drinking New york city coffee from those same little blue cups.
I'm not sure if anyone else on the web has stolen this as an original idea, but you could try a collection of NYC chinese food take out containers. Up here in Canada it never comes in those little white boxes you always see on TV......
Sean
I think most of the takeout containers here are just plain white with just a few more upscale places having those red round containers.
Thank you, Justin.
You definitley see them on all the New York tv shows. Up here in Toronto and the suburbs it always comes in flat round containers, metal or plastic, about two inches tall....
Maybe you can start collecting Rupert's "Frozen Fruit Whippies" cups from Hello Deli....
I've never watched Letterman much, but I do remember the deli. I should check it out for cups next time I'm in the area.
You can get that famous cup in ceramic. I have one, it's really nice. Even in ceramic it has a ridge where the two ends are "glued" together.

Yeah, I've seen those around. The Lucky Beggar Purse is way cooler.
